Welcome to Beverley Civic Society

Beverley is a market town, the county town of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The town is noted for Beverley Minster and St Mary’s Church, for Beverley Westwood and its other commons, North Bar, the Dominican friary and the racecourse. It has a lively Saturday and Wednesday market, and a historic centre of mainly Georgian buildings.

Architectural Heritage

Beverley is rich in architectural heritage. Within a square mile are compressed a cornucopia of buildings dating from the middle ages, when Beverley was listed as the 11th most populous town in England, through the Georgian and Victorian construction booms up to the present day.
